Textbook The course reader, Introduction to Statistical Signal Processing, by Prof. Abbas El Gamal, is available at the Stanford Bookstore.
Syllabus Random variables, vectors, and processes
Time averages, expectations, and laws of large numbers
Stationarity, autocorrelation, and spectral analysis
Mean square error estimation, detection, and linear filtering
Independent increment, Gaussian, and Poisson random processes
Homework Homework is assigned each Thursday and due the following Thursday before 5pm. Late homework will not be accepted. You are allowed to work on the homework in small groups, but you must write your own homework to hand in.
Examinations   Midterm examination: Tuesday, November 7, 11:00-12:45. Closed book except for one sheet (two sides) of notes.

Final examination: Wednesday, December 13, 7:00-10:00pm. Open book, open notes.
